Typical Preparations -Teas, tinctures, creams. Witch hazel bark water is made with alcohol, but witch hazel leaf water can be made without alcohol. NOT for internal use.
Cosmetic Usages - Apply as a poultice, add to herbal bath bags or use to make strong “teas” for topical use.
Witch hazel is an evergreen shrub found throughout the woodlands of eastern America and Nova Scotia.
The leathery leaves of the plant contain numerous active compounds, including quercitin, kaempferol and gallic acid. Dried witch hazel leaf is used to produce infusions, tinctures and extracts for topical use.
