Dead Sea Salt

Scientific Name - Sodium chloride

Origin - Israel

Cosmetic Usages - Use in cosmetic and spa recipes, facial and lip scrubs, and to make bath salts.

Culinary Usages - Excellent finishing salt for just-cooked foods.  Use sea salt as you do table salt—as seasoning - before and after cooking foods. Sea salt is also a flavorful addition to fresh salads.  Try adding to a pot of boiling water or to foods prior to cooking.

Household Usages - Use to scrub surfaces. soak up spills and in natural household cleaning formulas. Salt may also be added to laundry in the washing machine to help deodorize clothing and soften water.

Equine Usages - Sea salt is Nature's electrolyte. It aids in digestion and stabilizes body functions and fluids. It is natural unrefined salt that contains over 80 essential minerals.  Recommended Amount: 1 Tablespoon per day based on 1,000 lb. horse.

As the name implies, sea salt comes from the ocean. It is harvested from evaporation pools, in some cases by hand. It significantly differs from table salt in processing as well as in composition. The latter is refined and typically contains anti-caking agents like calcium phosphate, while the mineral content in sea salt is preserved. This gives the salt a much more robust, earthy flavor.
