Botanical Name - Mentha citrata

Other Names - Wild bergamot, Bee Balm, Bergamot Mint, Eau-de-cologne Mint, Horsemint, Lemon Mint, Lime Mint, Orange Mint, Pineapple Mint, Water Mint, Wild Water Mint. Wild Oregano

Origin - USA

This is not the bergamot used in Earl Grey Tea, which comes from an Italian citrus fruit. This is an herb that has a lavender scent due it due to the different compounds within it.

A relative of oregano, Bergamot is sometimes called Wild Oregano. It has the same spicy taste and smell of some oregano plants and bears a similar color flower when in bloom.

Use the dried leaves in place of Mexican or Greek oregano, sprinkled on meats or in soups and stews. The dried flowers are spicy and can be a nice addition to salsa or chili dishes.

Packaging - We package all of our herbal, fruit powders and spices in a heat sealed mylar bag which serves as a very effective barrier to light, oxygen, odors, flavors, moisture, and bacteria. The bag can be resealed with any household iron or curling iron.
