Origin - USA

Flavor Profile - Strong, herbaceous character and bitter overtones. Blend with other herbs in teas to improve taste. 

Culinary Usages - Combine with other herbs, spices and flowers in tea blends. 

Cosmetic Usages - Use to make infusions for skin and hair washes and to make infused oils for use in salves and ointments. 

Vervain and its many varieties have been used historically by ancient Roman priests in sacrifices and as a general alter plant. Druids, magicians and sorcerers utilized it in their rites and incantations. It was worn around the neck as a charm for general good luck.

The dried herb is edible but bitter, and may be added to teas, salads and soups. It can also be infused in oil or tinctured and added to lotions, creams, soaps, ointments, facial toners and perfumes.
