This versatile spice carries the slightly licorice flavor of fennel and anise seed. Caraway seed is the traditional favorite flavoring for rye breads, sausage, sauerkraut, and some cheeses. It can also add a bit of sweetness and distinctive taste to baked goods and vegetables such as carrots, cabbage, and beets.

Try slightly toasting the seeds to enhance their flavor and sprinkle over breads and cookies for a unique finished taste. Or try mixing Caraway Seed with ginger and salt to make a traditional German butter spread. Caraway is small but is packed with minerals and is a healthy addition to your cooking recipes.

Best in savory as well as sweet dishes. Caraway seeds have a distinct flavor with a small hint of fennel and anise seed.

Packaging - We package all of our herbal, fruit powders and spices in a heat sealed mylar bag which serves as a very effective barrier to light, oxygen, odors, flavors, moisture, and bacteria. The bag can be resealed with any household iron or curling iron.
