Celery Seed Whole
Botanical Name - Apium graveolens
Origin - India
Whole celery seeds maintain their volatile oils much longer than ground seeds. Because of this, many cooks prefer to use whole seeds in their recipes. But given their strong flavor, whole celery seeds should be used sparingly.
Whole celery seed is popularly used in coleslaw and potato salad. It has an earthy, savory taste that brings out the flavors of potatoes, meats, and vegetables.
For those avoiding salt, celery seed is a wonderful sodium-free flavor enhancer in cooking.
Packaging - We package all of our herbal, fruit powders and spices in a heat sealed mylar bag which serves as a very effective barrier to light, oxygen, odors, flavors, moisture, and bacteria. The bag can be resealed with any household iron or curling iron.
Precautions - Seeds may cause a severe allergic reaction in some people. Avoid eating large doses during pregnancy due to a risk of premature uterine contractions.
