Elecampane is a member of the aster family distributed throughout Europe, Asia and some parts of North America. Although the attractive flowers are eye-catching, it is the root of the plant that is harvested to produce teas, tinctures and other preparations.
The powdered root is encapsulated, or used to make cough syrup.
Elecampane is a source of inulin, a food additive and dietary prebiotic.
Packaging - We package all of our herbal and fruit powders in a heat sealed mylar bag which serves as a very effective barrier to light, oxygen, odors, flavors, moisture, and bacteria. The bag can be resealed with any household iron or curling iron.
Precautions - Be aware that larger amounts of this herb may cause vomiting, diarrhea and intestinal paralysis, which requires immediate medical attention. People with a known sensitivity to inulin should avoid this herb. If you are taking any other herbs or supplements please consult with a qualified health-care provider before starting any new regimen. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, consult with your physician before taking.
