Fennel is a flowering perennial in the celery family commonly grown as a garden vegetable and for its feathery, licorice-flavored foliage. Fennel is also harvested for its seed, the flavor of which is comparable to anise.

Fennel seed has many culinary applications. It is used to flavor breads, cakes and cookies, as well as cordials. Use to flavor breads, vegetables (especially cabbage), meats, soups and stews. The seed is also prepared as tea, which reputedly helps to settle an upset stomach and relieve gas.

Add to potpourri mixes for visual appeal and bright aroma.

Packaging - We package all of our herbal, fruit powders and spices in a heat sealed mylar bag which serves as a very effective barrier to light, oxygen, odors, flavors, moisture, and bacteria. The bag can be resealed with any household iron or curling iron.
